Dynamo School of Gymnastics hosted the Southern Region National & Compulsory Grades. Dynamo had gymnasts competing in both the National & Compulsory Grades system across the weekend.
Day 1 was the turn of Dynamo’s National Grade gymnasts.
Competing in National Grade 3, Anabel Edem finished in 16th position gaining a Commendation for her Grade with a score of 56.95.
Team mate, Emma Glasspool also gained a commendation for her Grade with a score of 55.70. Emma also gained the Silver medal for her Vault with a massive score of 13.20.
Bethan Light also passed her Grade with a score of 53.85.
Also, competing on Day 1 was our National Grade 2 gymnasts.
Lila North finished in 5th position overall with a total score of 55.40, being commended for her Grade. Lila also placed 3rd on bars with 11.60 and 6th on floor with 10.10. Lila’s 5th place finish has qualified her as travelling reserve for the Southern Region Team to National Finals.
Team mate Elise Blissett passed her Grade, finishing in 11th place with a total score of 53.40. Elise also placed 4th on Bars with 11.45 and 6th on Floor with 10.10.
Victoria Baynes also passed her National Grade 2, scoring 50.65 placing 12th overall. Victoria also placed 5th on Range & Conditioning with 12.05.
Day 2 was the turn of Dynamo’s Compulsory gymnasts.
In Round 1, Lucie Denton narrowly missed out on passing her Compulsory Elite Grade 4 with a total score of 49.10, placing 13th overall. Lucie did a fantastic job on Vault with a score of 12.90 and Bars scoring 12.35, but unfortunately falls on beam meant she was just short of a pass.
In Round 2, Molly Symonds competed in her Compulsory Elite Grade 3, finishing with a total score of 50.25, to finish in 13th position overall. Molly started her competition on Vault with a massive score of 13.00 to take the Bronze medal on this apparatus. Molly can now continue along the Elite Development Plan, after holding her nerve across all 5 apparatus to successfully pass her Grade.
Congratulations to all the girls on a successful weekend. Head of Women’s Artistic Kerri Upton said of the girls performance, “We’re very proud of all the girls, the gymnasts and coaches have all put a lot of work into their training for Grades season and it has shown in our results across all the levels. We look forward to National Finals and to moving on to Voluntary season later in the year with high hopes”
