This weekend saw Dynamo School of Gymnastics take part in the Southern Region Team Championships, with Dynamo being the only club to field 2 teams in the FIG section of the competition.
The Dynamo B Team took 3rd place with an overall Team Score of 128.35. The Team consisted of Leah Mitchell, Tayah Askham, Sydney Letchford, Olivia Essex, and Ella Beattie-Edwards, with Sydney coming out with the highest all-around score for them with 43.85. Ella & Ollie also picked up execution ribbons for their performances on Floor & Beam.
The Dynamo A Team took 4th place with an overall Team Score of 127.30, just narrowly behind the B Team. The Team consisted of Danielle Barnes, Casey spry, Amy Layzell and Jessica Wells, with Casey coming out with the highest all-around score for them with 44.00, the 2nd highest all-around score of the day. Amy also picked up the Silver Medal on Bars and Danielle the Bronze medal on Bars.
This competition was also a qualification for the Bill McLoughlin Regional Apparatus Team Championships, with Sydney Letchford gaining the travelling reserve spot, for the highest all-around score including an average over 2 Vaults. Sydney will travel to Stoke with the Regional Team in September for this competition.
With just 2 weeks to go until the British Challenge Cup, this was a fantastic preparation competition. With another couple of weeks hard work ahead before the 9 girls travel to Guildford for the competition. Good Luck Girls!
