Over the weekend, some of Dynamo's junior and senior men & women competed in the English Championships at Robin Park, Wigan.
FRIDAY 14th March
U12 boys competition: Lyle Harry competed well in his first major competition. In a field of over 50 gymnasts, Lyle finished a credible 31st place.
Espoir girls competition: Leah Mitchell and Tayah Askham both competed with confidence in their first major national competition, performing new skills successfully in competition for the first time! Great experience for all 3 junior gymnasts.
SATURDAY 15th March
Senior boys competition: Daniel Lee took part in the Senior A competition (U17’s) and with some minor errors finished a solid 6th place in the all around competition including 5th place on floor.
Senior girls competition: Kelly Simm and Chloe Brebner competed in the Senior competition. Chloe competed new routines and skills across all 4 pieces solidly and finished a respectable 35th place. Kelly produced a fine performance to finish 2nd in the all around competition narrowly missing out on the English National Champion title by just a few tenths. A solid result saw her also crown English Floor Champion.
Kelly and Daniel now continue their preparations for the British Championships being held in Liverpool at the end of the month.
Sunday
Danielle Barnes competed in a strong field of Junior gymnasts. Competing well on Vault she finished 36th place.
